Medical Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
The therapy concept of LLLT or Photodynamic Therapy was developed in Germany and is based on the usage of soft lasers. Unlike surgical lasers that destroy tissue and cells, soft lasers supply our body with energy to trigger numerous regenerative processes.
LLLT applies blue, green, yellow, red and infrared lasers. Each laser light color AKA wavelengths, develops different effects which are evoked by the stimulation of specific cellular components, such as growth factors or cells of our immune system.
These effects have been proven by a large number of clinical studies.
This laser light energy absorbs into the tissues and blood, then, triggers a biological change at a cellular level. Each color has a unique physical property that no ordinary light has.
A light sensitive substance known as a photosensitizer may be given beforehand, After a certain amount of time the appropriate color of light therapy is applied (called irradiation) to trigger the desired effects.
One or more of five colors may be used during your therapy:
Red – Energizing effects: (increases ATP production), strengthens the immune system, increases cell activity, regenerates damaged tissue structures and improves circulation.
Green – Increases oxygen availability, positive effects on the future of red cells, reduction of blood viscosity.
Blue– Improves microcirculation by NO release, strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, accelerates wound healing, supports pain relief, activates telomerase and biogenesis of mitochondria with maximum anti-aging effects.
Yellow – Antidepressant effects by enhancement of vitamin D and serotonin production, detoxifying effects, chronic pain relief, positive influence on endocrine system and metabolism.
