Healthy cells can use sugar or fat for fuel, but cancer cells are only built to utilize sugar.

A ketogenic diet, one that is characterized by high fat, moderate protein and low carbohydrate intake has been shown to “evoke a physiological state similar to that triggered by exercise or fasting” and has been shown to “present a viable option as an adjunct therapy for cancer.
